Three weeks to Conserve School

The UPS truck, Fedex truck and USPS mail truck have been visiting our house more than usual lately and we have a big pile of cardboard boxes filled with all kinds of things.  There's a bunch of gear and supplies that are required for a semester at Conserve.  I think that I will do an inventory and take a picture of it all to post here, once it all arrives.

Online shopping for specific requirements, trying to get good deals, etc. was harder than I thought and I told Nathan that I spent at least 24 hours working on it, maybe more by now!

We got great deals at sierratradingpost.com, so if you are ever looking for outdoor gear, I highly recommend it.

Nathan has finals next week and then a week and a half off before I drive him up to Wisconsin to drop him off.  He already has homework for his AP Environmental Science class, so it won't be hard to figure out how to spend his spare time.

Other good news is that Tuesday is the day he GETS HIS BRACES OFF!!  The day has finally come.  And then in February, Elijah will get a spacer or braces.

We gave the kids a trip to Washington D.C. for Christmas and found a house in Virginia where we can stay.  We're actually renting a couple of rooms and have permission to use the microwave and dining room table.  These people have rave reviews and treat their guests well.  While we are in D.C., we're hoping Nathan will be attending Sc3, which is a climate congress for high schoolers where they get the tools to take action in their communities.  We hope to go birding and see Blue Grosbeaks!
