Still Surprised

It's so fun to have a two-year-old. He doesn't have enough experience to expect the change in seasons, so it is all new, surprising and wonderful to him. First, it was the leaves falling down and now, with a tiny snow storm, he's amazed by the snow on the grass.



It was fun to watch Elijah experiment with riding his bike through the big piles of leaves (you can see him in the background of the picture if you double click).



Sariah spent the whole summer (even with all our beach trips) wishing it was winter. So, you can see that she will use the leaves to her advantage. If there is no snow, at least you can still make an angel!



And finally, this last picture. I need throw this question out there...What do you do with a boy like this?

My Street in the Fall

Year after year I have wanted a picture of the trees on my street in the fall. It is such a beautiful sight and I want to remember it when I don't live here anymore! I finally got it this year. It's even better when no cars have driven through and the whole road is yellow.

Fall colors

I don't have Joseph's pictures downloaded yet, but here are a few of the pictures I took.

While we drove we listened to L.M. Montgomery's "Rainbow Valley." It's in the Anne of Green Gables series and is a very delightful children's book. I'm a little obsessed right now after having read the first of a series of three books. The first is called "Twilight." Next comes "New Moon," and finally "Eclipse." They are by Stephanie Meyer who is a graduate of BYU. They are actually teen books and they are about vampires. I prefer children's literature to adult anyway. The vampire part...well... Anyway, I've got the second and third on hold at my library and I JUST CAN'T WAIT!!

Fall!

Here in Michigan, Fall is my favorite season. To be honest, I have to say that once Spring gets here, it is usually my favorite too. But, at any rate, I love to live in the midst of deciduous trees in the autumn. It is really so lovely. We are planning a fall color tour this year. We'll head up north on an upcoming weekend and if we get any good shots, I'll post them.

Funny thing is that my summer flowers finally bloomed. We are in full color over here because I planted the seeds and bulbs so late in the season. I love it. The best of both worlds!
