North and South

I loved this movie. Not the one you might be thinking about, but a 2005 BBC production of a book by Elizabeth Gaskell.

This movie has a romantic undertone, much like Pride and Prejudice, but it also deals with the social climate of the time it was written. Joseph and I stayed up until 1 am last night (yAwNs!) to watch the whole thing. We just couldn't stop. I had watched it a few months back and enjoyed it then, but of course I always notice more details in subsequent viewings. I haven't read the book, though I'd like to, so I can't comment on how it compares.

If you watch this movie, be prepared to see a little violence and to see some very poor people. Other than that, it's clean.
