Congratulations, May!

May decided to try her hand at applying for scholarship money for an event that she wanted to attend.  We are very fortunate to be connected with amazing people and organizations that encourage youth to get involved and also offer scholarships.  The scholarship forms and essays that my kids have had the chance to write are giving them practice for applying to colleges and for college scholarships.

We were thrilled to get the following email on April 3rd, while we were in Florida:

Hi May,

It is my honor to inform you that Columbus Audubon's John Wilson Memorial Education Fund Committee has approved your request for $482 to pay for lodging and meals for three adults and four kids for Eco-Weekend. I will forward the names to the Eco-Weekend Committee tomorrow, but you and you family members will have to register. Enjoy the weekend and congratulations!

This was not only exciting, as we would not have been able to attend Eco-Weekend without the scholarship, but highly rewarding for May to have her hard work pay off!
